Beginning as an action hero in the early 1990s, Devgan matured early in his career, as is widely regarded now as one of the finest actors in the industry.

He is originally from Punjab. His father is Veeru Devgan, a director and stunt man. His brother is Anil Devgan, a film director in Bollywood.
